Field note / Build Night 04

What moved when the laptops opened.

Build Night 04 filled an AWS-hosted room with laptops and working software. Harry Nguyen came from Adelaide to unpack the harness and infrastructure behind long-running cloud agents. Immanuel Lam and Hunter Balderson then showed Platform, their iOS and Android product, and the Codex agent workflows moving it forward.

The talks gave way to supported coworking and a run of five-minute show-and-tells: Joseph's musical e-reader, Hariharan's piano-practice companion, Nicholas's personalised event finder, Immanuel's browser-based slide engine, and Dhilipkumar's WebMCP demo. People could follow the opening tracks, work on their own projects, or pull someone over when a stubborn problem needed a second pair of eyes.

The result felt more like a shared workbench than a showcase: presenters exposed the decisions behind their systems, builders kept shipping, and the room closed with the people who made the night happen still gathered together.

    Builders arrived with laptops, working repositories, side projects, and rough ideas.

  2. 02Two practical talks

    Harry Nguyen unpacked long-running cloud agents before Immanuel Lam and Hunter Balderson showed rapid mobile app development with Codex.

  3. 03Supported coworking

    The room split into working tracks, with introductions, pairing, and hands-on help available.

  4. 04Community share-outs

    Builders put musical tools, personal software, a slide engine, WebMCP, and other working demos on the big screen.

  5. 05Closing and conversations

    The formal program closed while project conversations and new connections continued.
